Who Are We?

Great question. We're still figuring that out. Here's what we know so far.

πŸ§ͺ

Science... Probably

We study volcanoes. Scientifically. Mostly by watching YouTube videos and gasping a lot. Our advisor (Mr. Hendricks, Chemistry) was voluntold.

πŸ™

Spiritual Enrichment

We don't actually worship volcanoes (the school board made us clarify this). We "deeply appreciate the geological majesty of magmatic formations." Same thing.

🎨

Arts & Crafts

We build baking soda volcanoes. Every single week. We have gotten very good at it. Our record: 14 eruptions in one afternoon. Nobody was there to witness it. We know what we did.

What Our Members Say

(These are real quotes. Mostly.)

"I joined because I thought it was a cooking club. 'Molten' lava cake, you know? Three months later, I'm the Vice President of Eruption Events. No regrets."

B

Brianna K.

VP of Eruption Events, 11th Grade

"My GPA went down but my understanding of tectonic plate subduction went way up. Worth it? Absolutely. Am I okay? That's a different question."

T

Tyler M.

Chief Lava Officer, 10th Grade

"The club has a mandatory chant at the start of every meeting and I refuse to tell you what it is. Come find out. Bring eye protection."

S

Sofia R.

Grand High Geologist, 12th Grade

"I am Mr. Hendricks. I was not asked to be in this section. Please send help. The kids are fine. I am less fine."

H

Mr. Hendricks

Faculty Advisor (Involuntary)
