What even is Bacon Ipsum?
Bacon Ipsum is a placeholder text generator — like Lorem Ipsum, but instead of meaningless pseudo-Latin, every word is a type of meat. Pancetta. Salami. Kielbasa. Prosciutto. The whole charcuterie board, baby.
It was presumably created by a developer who, mid-mockup, looked at their screen and thought: "You know what this wireframe needs? More andouille." And they were right.
Bacon ipsum dolor amet chuck short loin pork belly, tri-tip pancetta shankle flank kielbasa drumstick. Brisket frankfurter ham hock venison salami.
Why Lorem Ipsum is an act of culinary disrespect
Boring
"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" has been putting designers to sleep since 45 BC. Cicero would be devastated to learn this is his legacy.
Meaningless
At least meat words are real. Your stakeholders in the review meeting will read "prosciutto" and feel something. Hunger, probably.
Not Delicious
Nobody has ever craved Lorem Ipsum. But "bacon pancetta brisket strip steak"? That's a paragraph worth reading. Twice.
Totally real testimonials
"I used Bacon Ipsum in a client presentation and they approved the design immediately. I think they thought the app was about food. It was a banking app. I didn't clarify."
"My rubber duck debugging session improved 40% after I replaced my Lorem Ipsum with Bacon Ipsum. The duck seemed more engaged."
"I accidentally shipped Bacon Ipsum to production. Our bounce rate dropped 12%. Users were spending more time on the site. We left it in."
"It has 'meat only' mode. MEAT. ONLY. MODE. I wept. I don't know why. I think it was joy."

Need programmatic access to meat-based placeholder content? Bacon Ipsum has you covered. This is not a drill.
Somewhere, a backend engineer is routing bacon through their microservices. They are at peace.
